Born and raised in India and now based in Vancouver, Kailash Srinivasan’s work appears in Ex-Puritan, CBC Books, Coachella Review, and many other literary journals and anthologies.
His writing has been shortlisted for the Malahat Review Open Season Award, CBC Short Story Prize, Bridport Prize, Bristol Short Story Prize, and others.
He’s honoured to have won The Writers’ Union of Canada’s fiction prize and quietly—occasionally loudly—thrilled to be named one of CBC Books’ “30 Canadian Writers to Watch.”
And even now, when a rejection from a magazine/contest lands in his inbox, he, like American playwright Lynn Nottage, reminds them: “Well, I actually think it’s brilliant—and the brilliance will reveal itself when you’re ready.”
